About Miss Universe Canada
(as taken from the "Beauties of Canada" website)
Created in 2002, the “Beauties of Canada” Organization has the exclusive rights to send a Canadian representative to the Miss Universe® Pageant. The company president, Mr. Denis Davila, a Nicaraguan-born Canadian, has worked in the beauty pageant field for nearly a decade, and has successfully produced events here and in Nicaragua.
The Miss Universe® Canada pageant is a “Beauties of Canada” production; a company that advances and supports today's women. These women are savvy, goal-oriented and aware. The contestants who become part of the Miss Universe® Canada Pageant display these characteristics in their everyday lives, both as individuals who participate in the competitions to advance their careers, personal and humanitarian goals, and as women who seek to improve the lives of others. Our vision is to bring beauty pageants back to Canada by producing the event in an elegant format, promoting the beauty and intelligence of women in a gender and racial positive style, while promoting local talent in the fields of entertainment, arts and fashion design.
